BUILD Beauty Branding Studio is a founder-led studio (so you work directly with the brains behind it).
BUILD was created as a studio that focuses on brand strategy, naming, brand world building, 360 campaigns, product marketing, and verbal identity specifically for beauty brands. Where so many branding agencies focus on throwing you a color palette, some logo mockups, and a moodboard, we’re much more interested in positioning beauty brands for success and helping them stand out in a sea of sameness.
We prefer to partner with brands and founders directly and give direct beauty industry insight.
We do not operate as a one-stop-shop branding agency for any and every industry, putting whichever creative is available on your account.
You won’t find us working on automotive clients, B2B SaaS, or life insurance. Beauty is all we do (and wish to do).
We work on projects that excite us, and move onto retainers where integrating with your team makes a little more sense.
As a global studio, we operate out of New York as our central hub, but you’ll find us heading out west (Los Angeles), hopping across the pond (London) and even heading down under (Australia) throughout the year… Quite the global citizens (such a cliché, we know).
With 15 years of experience in beauty, BUILD was founded by Evangeline Sarney, a creative leader who holds an impressive client portfolio of brands including Glossier, Elizabeth Arden, EVE LOM, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Mario Badescu, and various emerging indie beauty brands. She has been quoted in publications including Cosmetics Business Magazine, Cosmopolitan Australia, and Bustle.

Not some random studio for any and every industry.
About Evangeline
Evangeline has worked with some of the biggest brands in beauty. From copywriting to content production, her career spans 15 years. Her first corporate foray into the world of beauty was consulting and managing the Lancôme beauty magazine, and she hasn’t stopped consulting since.
At the age of 6, Evangeline sat at a dining room table with the women of her town (picture a place with 355 people in rural, outback Australia). It was at this table where the local Avon lady would arrive with samples in tow for everyone to try (beauty product pickings out there were slim). While putting in their product orders over a cuppa (cup of tea or coffee in Aussie slang) shopping was met with gossip and conversation, which for Evangeline she remembers as an early memory of the way beauty brings people together.
Although the other kids around town were outside racing around in the garden, Evangeline was far more interested in the lotions, potions, serums, and perfumes (which she likened to magic) on display. She would sit at the table, smelling each of the perfume samples embossed into catalogues, gazing in awe at the advertisements, and excitedly sampling face creams on the back of her hand. Little did she know, these afternoons would set the stage for her life.
At the age of 8, her grandmother would gift her old cosmetics for “dress up.” Her first bright red Estée Lauder lipstick would be smothered all over her lips, and her cousin would become the subject of countless makeovers as she experimented with just about every colour and shade created between 1970 and 1999.
By the age of 10, she was mixing up imaginary skincare formulas in her bathroom, conducting surveys on what shampoos the other Year 6 students were using at home, and jotting down her DIY face mask recipes in a notebook.
In her teens, she would find herself reading a Dolly Magazine beauty booklet filled with beauty tips, trying out a new face mask that left her skin feeling like it was on fire, and eventually feeling compelled to start a beauty blog on Tumblr (which she probably didn't have much business doing).
Keeping her face and age anonymous, she ended up amassing over 1.2 million followers and writing for the likes of Huffington Post, Glam.com, and Beautyheaven.
Enter her twenties. Two suitcases, no job, no friends abroad, and a 6-month ticket to America. She set her sights on New York City, and 6 months turned into 7 years.
